The contributions to the foresight research

The contribution were very important for Millennia2015's foresight research process. Studying the results of the "information transfer" phase organized in Liege in 2008, we have extracted the 37 variables of Millennia2015. Among them, we proposed to choose the variables that mainly concerned the contributors, to analyze and document them by answering the questions proposed below while collecting different testimonies in order to present the situation as precisely as possible. It was also interesting to study the chosen variables in interaction with others that complete them in order to identify crossed impacts which emerge from the analysis.

The variable analysis ("fiches variables") presented did help us to identify the long term issues, the problems and the possible solutions linked to Millennia2015 37 variables in relation with each country, region or community. We did analyze them to identify the long term issues, to build the vision at the horizon 2025 and the strategy to reach it. As a result, we did produce the Millennia2015 Action Plan finalized during the international conference organized at the UNESCO at the end of 2012.

Eight main questions

Active in 2010-2011

Question 1 - Definition of the variable

Define and explain the title of this variable on the basis of the context (country, region, community, …) in which you evolve (with women's point of vue).

Question 2 - Retrospective assessment

How has this variable influenced - or not - women's empowerment during the last 10 (or 20) years?

Question 3 - Actual or emerging trends

What is the impact of this variable on women's daily life in your country, region or community, as well as on their participation to ongoing development and progress?

Question 4 - Uncertainty and discontinuities

To what extent the elements of this variable can they stop the process of women's empowerment and their active contribution to desirable futures?

Question 5 - Possible assumptions of evolution

How will this variable modify the status of women's empowerment as well as their role in society in 2025?

Question 6 - Issues

What are the issues of this variable for women? What have they to lose or gain?

Question 7 - Concretes examples

Provide concrete examples showing the interest of taking this variable into account in the assumptions or alternatives of the future.

(Why should this variable be taken into account as a priority in the assumptions or alternatives of the future?)

Question 8 - Sources, bibliography and links

List the sources of information that you present, the bibliography and the useful links. Documents, pictures or videos may be added to the

online questionnaire. For each studied question, it will be useful to identify the corresponding source-variables in the Millennia2015 IT2008 report.

Additional precisions

Question 9

Do you feel personally concerned by the studied variable?

Not at all - a little - moderately - deeply - extremely

Question 10

Does this variable actually represent a priority for women in the society in which you operate?

Not at all - a little - moderately - deeply - extremely

Question 11

Should this variable be part of the priorities for the construction of scenarios of the future by 2025?

Not at all - a little - moderately - deeply - extremely

Question 12

Are you a woman / a man?

Question 13

Are you part of the age group 15-25, 25-35, 35-35, 45-55, 55-65, 65-75, 75-+ ?

Question 14

From which State, region or province are you from?

In which State, region or province do you live?

Question 15

- your own opinion;

- the opinion of my association - my community - my country - my region, gathering (number) ….. persons.

Méthode de travail sur les variables par l'équipe de Millennia2015

01. Enregistrement des 62 interventions présentées lors de Millennia2015-IT2008;

02. Mise en ligne des podcasts vidéo de toutes les interventions sur le portail;

03. Ecoute documentée de chaque intervention, sélection et repérage (minutage, auteur, titre et session) des moments stratégiques;

04. Traduction de chaque séquence sélectionnée en anglais ou en français : la langue source apparaît en premier.

06. Extraction de 321 variables au départ de chaque séquence, numérotation de chaque variable par ordre chronologique;

08. Référencement précis de chaque variable (auteur, session, titre, lieu, date, lien);

09. Traduction des variables en anglais ou en français : la langue d'origine est citée en premier lieu pour chaque variable source;

10. Découpage de chaque variable source;

11. Premier classement de chaque variable source sur base des thématiques de M15-IT2008;

12. Ecriture progressive de 52 variables plus ciblées en fonction de la lecture des variables sources;

13. Premier classement des 321 variables dans les 52 "boîtes de variables" (numérotation "vs000-c1");

14. Deuxième classement des 321 variables sources et regroupement progressif en 47 "boîtes de variables ("vs000-c2");

15. Troisième et dernier classement des 321 variables sources ("vs000-c3") dans 37 variables et formulation finale des variables;

16. Finalisation du tableau des 321 variables sources, en complétant dans une colonne les numéros des trois variables dans lesquelles elles ont été classées et en comptant le nombre d'occurrences de chaque variable pour classement des plus représentatives;

17. Réalisation du tableau des 37 variables finales;

18. Répartition des 321 variables sources dans le tableau des 37 variables et formulation complète des variables en français et en anglais;

19. Dans une nouvelle colonne du tableau, extraction des mots-clés de chaque variable : chaque mot-clé reçoit ainsi un référence de base par rapport à Millennia2015-IT2008;

20. Traduction des mots-clés en anglais et français.

21. Réalisation des "fiches variables" : argumentation et documentation de chaque variable sur base des variables sources en fonction de la méthodologie prospective de Millennia2015;
