> The foresight Process:

    Concrete action

Objectives of the concrete action Millennia2025 She4Innovation

Millennia2025 She4Innovation is a concrete action aiming at inviting individuals and/or groups to participate in the foresight processes related to 4 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). New responsible and sustainable solutions in line with the UN SDGs 2030 are urgently needed for the current and future generations of humankind and, for this engagement today, women and girls are particularly welcomed to voice their views and ideas.

From the six strategic axes (SA) resulting from the Millennia2015 Action plan for women's empowerment and equality, Millennia2025 She4Innovation has chosen the following four axes:

(SA-1) Justice, (SA-2) Empowerment, (SA-5) Education and Equality, and (SA-6) Economic Power. These will be devoted to innovative actions considering the needs and values of women and girls up to the year 2025.

By building networks for these tasks related to  (SDG-4) Quality Education, (SDG-5) Gender Equality, (SDG-16) Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions  and (SDG-8) Decent Work and Economic Growth, the Millennia2025 Women and Innovation Foundation recognizes and acknowledges women and girls as leaders for development and social changes on the planet.

Results of the Millennia2025 She4Innovation study

Keyword: Education

SDG-4.

Quality Education: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all;

 +

SA-2.

To help women to build a personal and collective capital of freedom of movement and decision, of quality of life, of education, of training,  and of work.

Keyword: Equality

SDG-5.

Gender Equality: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

 +

SA-5.

To give the same rights to the girls than to the boys in the fields of education and training, to open all the channels and to commit them in common projects.

Keyword: Justice

SDG-16.

Peace, Justice and strong institutions: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

 +

SA-1.

To better respect and protect physical, moral and psychological integrity of women. To reinforce their juridical capacities, assure them of the non-impunity of their aggressors.

Keyword: Economic leadership

SDG 8.

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

 +

SA-6.

To improve the access of women in the social and economic activities, which are both carrying performance, efficiency, equity and social responsibilities.

> Key finding

The process that led us to combine the three SA/SDGs provides the basic assumption that Economic leadership (SDG-8 and SA-6) is the very innovative solution to develop by women for women's and girls' futures!: this is why we need your input.

v Leena-Maija Laurén,

Creative Director, Millennia2025 She4Innovation concrete action

Turku, Finland

Leena-Maija Laurén has been interested in the futures as phenomena since last millennium.

For making the world better for all, she has been active in the voluntary work of many organisations, and currently she has been invited to contribute to the foresight methods and global voluntary work of Millennia2025.

Laurén holds a Master's degree from the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration and she has since her graduation taken many courses to keep up her life-long-learning process. Her professional position is Development Manager at the University of Turku, Finland Futures Research Centre.

She appreciates the multicultural world, and has had opportunities for working with multiple languages in many countries. When teaching various Futures studies courses in Europe, Africa and Latin America she has been met with the excitement of many interesting, international university students.

This year her new challenge is to co-work as the Creative Director with the Millennia2025 Women and Innovation Foundation for the international network of women.

The target is to look forward: to promote and manage the She4Innovation process during the coming years.

The interactive methods chosen are uniquely combined in order to integrate the global level targets set by United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030), and the strategic contributions derived from the Millennia2015 Foresight research process since 2008.

The concrete action She4Innovation is a fantastic forum for women and girls to voice their views at all levels!
