Experience

v Have 27 years of professional experience in articulation of crucial legal problems, formulation of Human rights programs and management, and assessment of those programs, providing legal advocacy, training organized and mobilized vulnerable group of women, experienced in providing legal support to them carries good; Human Rights professional.

 

Specific skills, Grassroot mobilization 

v Organized garment workers, mobilized them to ensure their basic rights from the perspective of equal treatment, security of female workers in employment.

 

Networking and Policy advocacy 

v Effective linkage between grassroots initiatives and policy (formulation and implementation) process; in order to disseminate information and help redress policy in favour of the poor.

Major Project 

v 1998 Design specialist worked as the coordinator of Bangladesh National Women Lawyer’s Association (BNWLA). Significantly contributed to formulation of design for realization of human rights Democratization project. During the design phase, actively participated in the design workshop including public forum organized by NORAD, SIDA, and NOVIB – Bangladesh.

v Participated in training for the prevention of drug and substance abuse, organized by the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) in conjunction with IFNGO and The Colombo Plan Bureau in 1991.

v Participated in a workshop on Economic and Social Council by United Nation on 22.01.92.

v Attended a one-day seminar on Legalizing Pimping, Dutch Style –on 08/03/97 at Dhaka, Sheraton Hotel.

v Participated in a one-month workshop on newsletter on Trafficking in Women and Children by Centre for Women and Children studies (CWCS) on January to February 1998.

v Participated in a training on the strategies for employment of Women involved in informal economic sector by Bangladesh National Women Lawyer’s Association (BNWLA) on 03.06.98.

v Organized a three-days’ workshop on The Dhaka declaration by coalition against Trafficking in Women CATW on 26-29.06.98

v Organized a training on coalition Asia Pacific Report by the Coalition against Trafficking in Women (CATW) on November, 1998.

v Participated in a one-day seminar on role of the ombudsman the Swedish experience by British Council on 04.12.98.

v Participated in seven-days’ workshop on ombudsman for Bangladesh in quest of Good Governance by British Council from 29 to 15th December 98.

v Participated in a one-day training on dignity and security of female garments workers to Build up Confidence by CWRY office on 04.12.99.

v Attended the Millennium forum at United Nations, New York, USA 22 nd-26 May, 2000.

v Attended Beijing + 5 Conference at UN, NY, USA from 5th –9th June 2000 on The Coalition against Trafficking in Women.

v Participated in the Global March 2000 in Washington D.C. and New York from 16-19th October 2000 for poverty Alleviation and violence against women.

v Attended a seminar on Improving Social Standards in the Garments & Textile Industries in Bangladesh, held on 20.11.2000 at IDB Bhaban organized by German Development Center and GTZ.

v Attended International Conference by Women Deliver, in Washington D.C. 2010.

v Participated an international training in Manila, Philippines for 4 (four) days by OMCT.

v Participated an international training in Malaysia, Indonesia for 7 (seven) days.

v Participated an international training in Delhi, India for 7 (seven) days.

v Participated in training on Self Evaluation of BNWLA in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Thailand.

v Attended in United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs, Legislative Fellow, Professional Fellow and Professional Fellows Program from April 3 to May 6, 2011.
