Cornelia Daheim 

 

Cornelia Daheim is Managing Director Foresight Consulting for Z_punkt GmbH The Foresight Company. Ms. Daheim studied general and comparative literature, English and psychology at the University of Essen and at King's College, London; completed her M.A. with distinction and won an award for “outstanding graduation”.

She has been with Z_punkt since 2000, working on future studies projects for institutions such as the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and various national and multinational companies, including Philips, Bayer, TUI, BASF, or RWE.

Cornelia Daheim has founded and chaired the German Node of The Millennium Project and the Planning Committee for the German Node which brings together the relevant actors from the German futures field. She also is correspondent of the European Foresight Monitoring Network (EFMN).

Cornelia Daheim's general work focus is on:

- Futures studies and its methods, particularly scenario methods;

- Regional development, futures studies approaches and usability for regional development;

- Socio-cultural and technological change and its relevance for strategic decision and innovation (Demographic change, societal change, lifestyles, identity);

- Connecting futures knowledge to today's actions and challenges;

- Interdisciplinary approaches;

- International dimension of futures studies.

Before joining Z_punkt, Ms. Daheim held a number of posts at the University of Essen for four years during her studies, e.g., managing the linguistic agency and the "LAUD" journal, and as a research assistant at the Institute of German Studies / Medieval Studies. She also contributed to several scientific projects and supervised students and tutorials.

Nicole Dewandre 

 

Nicole Dewandre is Head of the Sustainable development Unit in the Directorate General for Research.

She studied physics, engineering and economics at the University of Louvain, operations research at the University of California (Berkeley) and philosophy at the Free University of Brussels (ULB).

She entered the European Commission in 1983, working as a scientific officer in the Directorate General for Research, in the field of strategic issues for technology policy, linking societal concerns with technology policy until 1986. She became a member of the Central Advisory Group and then the Forward Study Unit, dealing with strategic analysis of research and industrial policy for the President of the Commission (1986-1992).

In 1993, she supported the Belgian Presidency of the European Union in the areas of industry, energy, and consumer councils. Following this, she worked as a principal administrator in social sciences research in the Directorate-General for Research.

From 1997 onwards, she has been developing the Women and Science activities in DG Research.

Dilek Elveren

 

Née à Bruxelles, Dilek Elveren est d'origine turque, installée à Paris depuis 1993. Diplômée en Droit et en Science politique, elle obtient également un Master de recherche en "Relations internationales, politique et diplomatie" en 2004 à l'Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Ses recherches portent alors sur les organisations internationales et les stratégies de négociation dans les contextes multilatéraux, ainsi que la diversité culturelle.

Dilek Elveren a travaillé en tant que consultante pour l'Unité "Egalité des genres et développement" du Secteur des Sciences sociales de l'UNESCO, notamment sur les questions de genre dans les contextes de conflit et post-conflit. Après avoir été chargée de projet sur les violences faites aux femmes pour Médecins du Monde, elle rejoint l'Organisation internationale de la Francophonie en décembre 2007, en tant que responsable de projets au sein de l'Unité de l'Egalité des genres pour le développement de la Direction de la planification stratégique.

En parallèle, elle a le statut d'évaluatrice "genre et développement" pour la Croix-Rouge française.

Elle est l'auteure de deux articles : "Les femmes dans le système judiciaire en Turquie" (UNESCO, publication prévue pour 2009) et "The Making of an International Convention : Culture and Free Trade in Global Area", (co-écrit avec Dr. Valentine M. Moghadam, publication prévue pour  octobre 2008, dans "Review of International Studies").

Nadezhda Gaponenko

 

Dr. Gaponenko has 25 years experience in futures studies, S&T policy, innovation & environmental policy for government, international organizations, and private sector. She is the author over 10 monographs, and over 100 articles published in Russian, English and German. Mrs. Nadezhda Gaponenko coordinated and contributed to about 100 projects carried out for the Russian and international organizations (OECD, UNEP, UNESCO, World Water Counsel, Millennium project). She was the organizer, chair of sessions and key speakers at many Russian and international conferences (France, Australia, U.S., the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, Finland, Germany, Japan, Belgium, and the like).

Currently Mrs. Gaponenko is the head of department at the Center of Science Development Study under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She is Corresponding member of the Russian Academy  of Natural Sciences and scientific secretary of the department of Forecasting & Cycles of this Academy (responsible for the international collaboration).

Coumba Sylla est chargée de recherche au pôle Société de l'information de l'institut Destrée.

 

Coumba Sylla is a Research fellow to the Destree Institute Information Unit.  

She works with and assists the director of research of this unit, Marie-Anne Delahaut, especially on Millennia2015, “women actors of development for the global challenges”,  foresight research process for equality between women and men, respect for human rights, promotion of the human capital and of digital solidarity in order to empower women.

After studying foreign languages: Spanish and English at the University of Rheims and Lille 3, she obtained a Master of European Communications and Exchanges at the University of Bretagne-Sud of Lorient. She chose that course of study to better understand the specificities of the implementation of international projects.

Aware of the situation of women and above all of their capacities, their willpower and their resoluteness for their own realization, she joined The Destree Institute team at the Information Society unit after an internship. She contributes to the development Millennia2015 research activities and concretes actions for women's empowerment.

She is head of Millennia2015 Senegal community and treasurer of the Millennia2025 "Women and Innovation" Foundation, foundation of public interest whose goal is to realize the activities of the Millennia2015 foresight research process for equality between women and men, respect for human rights, promotion of the human capital and of digital solidarity in order to empower women.

Coumba Sylla is French of Senegalese descent and lives in Namur.
